Not the more common late 'E model, the UK's only resident flying Sabre is a rare early 'A model.

Two 4 FTS Hawks were painted in a rather in-your-face colour scheme for the 2005 display season. Not sure if I liked it though but it was certainly eye catching.

RAF also brought a short J model Hercules from Lyneham - another RAF base due for the chop!

The navy 'Black Cats' usually operate a pair of Lynx's on the display circuit during the year. HMA.8s were brought to Duxford rather than the more common HAS.3s

Same airframe. Not the most streamlined of helicopters, is the HMA.8!

Shooting the Duxford flightline towards the sun is not easy on the best of days, throw in the early morning fog and you can get a interesting result if lucky. The Duxford Tigercat.

Another recent restoration that has been added to the Duxford fleet, this P-51D wears the markings of a aircraft flown from the base during wartime.

The Fighter Collections P-51C always stands out from the rows of 'bubble canopy' P-51D's.

Not normally my sort of thing, but a mass of Yak 50/52s make a nice shot if angled right.

Underside of the C-130J You can always distinguish a J from the earlier model as it's not fitted with tanks underwing.

The RAF Hawk display. Black aircraft do not tend to photograph well at Duxford due to the sun (when it's out!) being in your face.

Not a shot I would have tried prior to digital photography. But combine a elevated position, good lighting and the no worries of expense that comes with digital and you've got nothing to lose!

The blue painted Spit. Supposedly painted that way in 1942 to blend in with the USS Wasp's deck. I'm a big historical naval buff and I can't remember hearing that but will take HAC's word for it as it looks so good.

Another angle that worked out. I do like the 'Guns Loaded' chalked on the nose - a nice touch.

Ray Hanna in his well known MkIX - MH434. Sadly, nobody who was at Duxford for the Autumn show of 2005 was aware they were watching the final display by the greatest Spitfire display pilot of all time. Ray Hanna died on the 1st of December 2005.
