BBMF day at Duxford.
12th May 2007

A one off event to introduce the memorial flight on its 50th anniversary year was held at Duxford in early May prior to the usual airshow season. All the flights aircraft (including the two Chipmunks) were present, along with a original BBMF Spitfire now operated by Rolls-Royce and the 29 Sqn Typhoon display also performed for the first time this year.

I slowed the shutter down as slow as I thought possible to get some decent blur on the blades of the Lancaster.

The Lancaster is rather too large to allow a full frame shot as it taxies past. Looks more like a Manchester here!

The Lancaster is not the easiest aircraft to photograph without direct sun, given its mainly black colour scheme. The new nose art can be seen here.
